Vase

This glass vase was designed in 1973 by Heikki Orvola and made in 1979 by the Nuutajarvi Glassworks in Finland.

The vase is made of clear colourless bubbly glass tinted pale brown. The design is called 'Vulcano'. The vase has the diamond-engraved mark 'Heikki Orvola Nuutajarvi Notrjo'.

Since the end of World War II, the national design organisations of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have collaborated with joint exhibitions and prizes to promote modern functional design. This resulted in a characteristic 'Scandinavian Style' which was a major influence on world taste.
