Wine glass

This wine glass dates from 1970. It was designed by Per Lutken and made by Holmegaards Glassworks of Fensmark in Denmark.

The wine glass is made of clear glass streaked with brown, blue and grey and flashed with opaque white glass. The design is called 'Marmoreret glas'.

Since the end of World War II, the national design organisations of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have collaborated with joint exhibitions and prizes to promote modern functional design. This resulted in a characteristic 'Scandinavian Style' which was a major influence on world taste.
