These three metal buttons, three copper coins, five wire-headed pins, glass bead and crude stone cup are all from the well on Inschadney in Loch Tay, near Kenmore in Perthshire, a former village deserted around 1800.

One of the coins is a George III farthing, dated 1806, the other two are difficult to identify but are probably 'turner' of between around 1632 and 1638.

Those who visited wells left votive gifts, often small coins, pins or nails. At some wells rags were left, which represented the person's illness or troubles. These wells were and are known as 'clootie' wells.
