These two pewter plates are from Floors Castle in Roxburghshire. They date from the late 18th or early 19th century. Each plate is stamped 'SUPERFINE / HARD METAL' and has a plain rim engraved with a ducal coronet 'R' (for the Duke of Roxburgh).
