Firescreen

This art-nouveau-style firescreen dates from the early 20th century. It is made from a beaten copper sheet on a bar metal frame. It belonged to David Stevenson, Professor of Greek at Glasgow University and father of R.B.K. Stevenson, former director of the Museum of Antiquities.

The design is a typical art nouveau motif featuring stylised plants.
