Air pump (detail)

This is a detail of a double-barrelled air pump made in the 19th century, probably in Germany.

The detail shows the brass plate on the wooden base of the pump. The plate is inscribed 'W [illegible] CL [illegible] & Comp BERLIN'. The manufacturer or retailer of the pump has not yet been identified.

Demonstration air pumps of this design were available all over Europe for much of the 19th century, when the design changed little.
