Plate (detail)

This detail shows the mark of the Campbellfield Pottery Company Ltd of Glasgow. It is on the base of a transfer-printed earthenware plate which dates from the late 19th or early 20th century.

The mark consists of a thistle with the pattern name 'LOTHIAN' above. Scrolls across the thistle contain the company initials 'C.P. Co. Ltd' and 'GLASGOW'.
