Medal or badge (Obverse), of Edinburgh Skating Society

This is the obverse of silver medal or badge of the Edinburgh Skating Society. Dating from around 1790, the item was made for a James Dewar.

The obverse is engraved 'Edinburgh / Skating / Society / James Dewer / Esq'. At the top is a representation of an arm holding a sword or dagger and the inscription 'QUIT NON PRO PATRIA'.
