Add to album

This is the reverse of a copper halfpenny trade token of Mackintosh, Inglis & Wilson of Inverness. The token dates from 1793.

The reverse depicts a cornucopia of flowers. The date, 1793, is inscribed upon a stone at the bottom of the token.

Between 1787 and 1817 over 10,000 different types of trade token were issued. Tokens varied in quality from crude lead discs stamped with initials to elaborate pieces of craftwork from the die-sinkers with depictions of industrial or commercial scenes.
