Trade token (reverse), of Thomson's Warehouse, Edinburgh

This is the reverse of a copper farthing trade token of Thomson's Warehouse in Edinburgh.

The reverse depicts a sailing ship in the centre surrounded by the text, 'Thomson's Warehouse Edinburgh'.

Tokens issued by trades and companies were circulated locally and could be used to buy goods or be redeemed by their issuers for regal coinage.
