This is the obverse of a copper medal commemorating the Glasgow Exhibition of 1901. The medal was made by a J.W. Lauer.

The obverse bears an engraving of the exhibition site and is inscribed 'GLASGOW EXHIBITION 1901'. The medal has a loop for suspension.

Edinburgh hosted international exhibitions in 1886 and 1907, and Glasgow in 1888 and 1901. These were large events where Scottish produce, from railway engineering to pottery, vied with international exhibits.
