Candleholder (parts)

These two silver semi-circles are part of a candleholder which, when assembled, is in the form of a ball containing an open cup with a candle socket. The candleholder was made in Germany in 1702 by Jens Ulrich.

The two semi-circles have pierced nautical and mythological scenes within roundels. The semi-circle on the right is engraved`JENS/ULRICH/1702'.
