Inside-painted glass snuff bottle

Craftsmen use all types of materials to create snuff bottles of various designs: glass, crystal, amber, agate, nephrite, coral, enamel, porcelain, lacquer, ivory, and so on. Decorative themes are drawn mainly from the repertory of Chinese arts.

The reverse is painted with Zhong Kui and two demons. Zhong Kui was the Daoist demon queller. He is often depicted as a scholar-official wearing the official robe and hat and appearing with the demons.
