Single print belonging to a trypych of a scene from the Kabuki theatre by Kunisada. The print is signed Gototei Kunisada and published by Yamaguchi-ya Tobei. The censer mark is Kiwame.

This print of Nakumura Utayemon 1V, playing the role of a tea master shows him transferring hot water from the kettle to the tea bowl by use of the hot water ladle. The handling of this ladle is an important marker in the performance of the tea ceremony.
