Colour woodblock print, ukiyo-e

Right-hand print of diptych illustrating two actors. This one is Iwai Kumesaburo (Hanshiro V1) as the character Ko-ume. The print is signed Gototei Kunisada and published by Yamamoto-ya Heikichi. The censor mark is kiwame.

The male actor playing the character Ko-Ume which is written in the lantern, is holding a small button down purse and a long case, possibly for a pipe and tobacco. Around netsuke is attached to them to hold them in place on the obi.
