Colour woodblock print, ukiyo-e

Triptych from an album of warrior prints by kuniyoshi. This one is titled "Kawanakajima kassen" (The battle of Kawanakajima) and signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi. Published by Joshuya Kunzo. The censor mark is aratame. The print is date marked to Hare 9 = 1855

This triptych illustrates a close-up of the personal encounter of the two leaders, Uyeshigi Kenshin on the left and Takeda Shingen at the battle of Kawanakajima in 1560. The detail shows the sword in the hand of Uyeshigi Kenshin.
