Map of Scotland [Map sheet 6]

This is sheet 6 from the twelve sheets which make up the 'Map of Scotland', a folding map published by John Stockdale of Piccadilly in London. Mounted on linen, the map is dated 31 January 1806 and is to a scale of 3.5 miles to 1 inch.

This sheet covers a substantial section of Aberdeenshire. It ranges from Fochabers in the north west to Aberdeen in the south east.

Aberdeen is Scotland's third largest city. Previously famous for its granite, shipbuilding and fishing industries, it has undergone significant changes in the past 25 years with the discovery and development of North Sea oil and gas.
