These two letters, addressed to William Wilson & Sons of Bannockburn near Stirling, are orders for supplying lengths of tartan as per the attached samples. The letters are dated 1823.

39 letters with accompanying pieces of clan tartans or drawings of setts, sent to Messrs Wilson of Bannockburn as orders

Reputedly founded in 1724, with surviving records from 1765, Wilsons' tartan weaving firm created new tartan patterns to order, arranging setts, colours and shades according to taste and demand.
