Banknote (back), One pound, issued by North of Scotland & Town & County Bank Ltd

This is the back of a one pound banknote issued by the North of Scotland & Town & County Bank Limited on 1 March 1918. The note was printed from plates engraved by Bradbury Wilkinson & Co from a design by Sir George Reid, RSA.

The back feature the arms of the bank.

The North of Scotland & Town & County Bank Limited remained independent until 1950 when it merged to form the Clydesdale & North of Scotland Bank Ltd. As the name was very unwieldy it was changed to the Clydesdale Bank Limited several years later.
