This is the second page of a document dated 27 December 1711 which 'obliges' Robert Campbell (Rob Roy Macgregor) to deliver to James, the Duke of Montrose, 60 Kintail highland cows at 14 pounds Scots each and one bull.

The document is has the signatures, 'Ro Campbell' and 'Tho Fraser'.

Huge numbers of black cattle were exported, mostly to English markets. In 1723 around 35,000 head of cattle went south. Cattle were valuable, and some thieves made a living from raiding on the long road south.
