Locket (back), associated with James VIII, Old Pretender

This is the back of a gold locket associated with James VIII, 'The Old Pretender'.

The back is engraved, 'Gift Ld Huntly to Jno Grant 1802'.

Jewellery and medals of this time reflect the divided loyalties of the supporters of the Protestant Hanoverians and the supporters of the Stewart line of succession.
