Moulds for communion tokens (Detail)

This detail shows the faces of both parts of a mould for casting communion tokens from Dalkeith Kirk in Midlothian. The mould dates from 1763.

One face of the mould is engraved the inscription 'Kirk of Dalkeith 1763', the other with the unusual depiction of the kirk itself.
