Silver medal (obverse) of the Highland Society of Glasgow

This is the obverse of a silver medal of the Highland Society of Glasgow. The medal was awarded to weaver Donald Mackellar in 1809 as a badge of merit for his apprenticeship. It was made by Robert Gray of Glasgow.

The obverse is inscribed: 'BADGE OF MERIT / From the / HIGHLAND SOCIETY / of Glasgow'.
