Trade token (Obverse), of Glasgow Tramway and Omnibus Company Limited

This is the obverse of a metal trade token of the Glasgow Tramway and Omnibus Company Limited. It dates from the late 19th century.

The obverse has the inscription 'The Glasgow Tramway and Omnibus Company Limited'.

In the 19th century, Glasgow began to build a network of tram routes. Operation was leased to a company until 1894, when it came under full municipal control.
