Silver medal (obverse) commemorating the Treaty of Union

This is the obverse of a silver medal commemorating the Treaty of Union between Scotland and England in 1707. The obverse was engraved by John Croker.

The obverse shows the head and shoulders of Queen Anne. The Latin inscription around the rim translates as 'Anne by the grace of God, Queen of Great Britain, France and Ireland'.

The Treaty united the parliaments of Scotland and England. The Union of the Crowns had taken place in 1603.
