Trade token (obverse) of the British Public House Association, Edinburgh and Leith

This is the obverse of a copper trade token of the British Public House Association of Edinburgh and Leith. It dates from the late 19th century.

The obverse is inscribed 'British Public House Co Limited' and 'Available at 11 High Street, 16 Cowgatehead, 51 Shore Leith'.

The British Public House Association built improved public houses where strong drink was discouraged and profits went back into the community.
