Fan (Guard)

Guard of folding fan, of carved ivory inlaid with mother of pearl, and with a brass rivet.

The top part is inlaid with the classical dressed figure of a soldier holding a shield and a Chinese woman below. At the throat is a flaming heart above an inlaid shell.
