Fan (Guard)

Guard of folding fan, of carved and pierced ivory with red foil backing.

Carved with a scrolling floral design, the top part pierced and backed by red foil which shows up the pattern. The head by the rivet is very bulbous which allows the fan to be held elegantly when folded between the second and third fingers.
