Guard of a folding fan

Guard of folding fan, carved ivory, painted and with gold pique and a white paste.

Carved with a swan, a man in theatrical dress and flowers and painted with a house, fruit and flowers. The rivet holds guards and sticks and allows the fan to pivot open.
