Toby jug (2 of 2)

This cream glazed earthenware toby jug dates from the early 19th century. This picture shows the side of the jug.

The toby jug has a seated figure wearing a waistcoat and breeches, and holding a foaming tankard. He has a long stemmed clay tobacco pipe between his legs.
