This is the reverse of a Scottish Military & Naval Academy silver medal for military exercises. The medal was presented in 1826 to Simon Fraser, later Major General Fraser.
The reverse of the medal is engraved 'SCOTTISH/ Military/ AND NAVAL /ACADEMY/ INSTITUTED/ 1825'.
The Scottish Military & Naval Academy in Edinburgh operated from 1825 until 1869. It provided specialised private education for young men who wished to become officers in the Royal Navy, the army, or the East India Company's services.
