Bowl

This maiolica bowl was made in Italy, possibly at Pesaro or Loreto, in the 18th or 19th century. The bowl was made for pilgrims to Loreto.

The bowl is painted in polychrome with the Virgin and Child in one holy robe with haloes, crown and necklace. In the background is a church. The inscription around the rim, 'CON.POL.DI.S.CASA', translates as 'with dust of the Holy House'.
