Dish

This maiolica dish was made made in Urbino in Italy around 1570.

The dish is painted with 'Jeremiah's Vision'. Jeremiah is kneeling on one leg, looking upwards to the figure of God on clouds with flaming pot and almond tree.

God appeared to Jeremiah, the prophet, foretelling the destruction of the Northern Kingdom (Jeremiah I: 11-13).
