Drug jar

This maiolica drug jar was made at Urbino or Castel Durante in Italy in 1652.

The jar is decorated in polychrome with grotesques and a coat of arms on this side, and with the initials 'G.B.P. 1652' on the other. The inscription 'GRASSO.DI.TASSO' ('badger's grease') appears twice.
