Jeep, Willys Overland

This 'Willys Overland' type MB Jeep, a lightweight military reconnaissance vehicle, was built by the U.S.A. in 1945. It was last used by the Norwegian Army. It is pictured here at the Museum of Flight at East Fortune in East Lothian.

The jeep is intended for off road use. It has left hand drive and is open sided, with folding windscreen and hood. It is powered by a 60 bhp petrol engine, with 3 speed gears. The jeep is painted in World War II British Army Airborne Division colours.
