Add to album

This bicycle was made around 1884 by Rudge, one of many bicycle and tricycle makers in the English Midlands.

This high bicycle has a steel tube frame and tangential spoked wheels. The type was colloquially known as a Penny Farthing. The spoon-type brake on the large wheel is operated by a lever on the right side of the spade-grip handlebars. The tyres are made of solid rubber. The model name is 'Roadster'.
