This lithograph was made in 1991 in Tunis City in Tunisia by Nja Mahdaoui. The design shows a bold interpretation of various Arabic calligraphic scripts treated as abstract motifs rather than inscription.

The background has two horizontal broad bands of rows of closely written cursive gold nasta'liq script on a black background. In the bottom right is a stylised Ottoman tughra in a mixture of gold cursive Kufic script with feathered loops of nasta'liq. The top right has a bold monogram in scarlet flowing script possibly a stylised version of Bismillah al rahman al rahim (in the name of God the compassionate the merciful). The top left is interlaced with a gold Kufic monogram while in the bottom right is Nja Mahdaoui's signature in cursive Arabic script.
