Bicycle, Stowaway
Add to album

This bicycle was made in 1963 by Moulton of Bradford-on-Avon in Wiltshire in England. The Moulton was the first major redesign of the bicycle since the safety bicycle was introduced in the 1880s. It can be considered the first truly unisex design. It was designed by Alex Moulton who was also responsible for the suspension on the Mini motor car.

The beam frame bicycle has the model name 'Stowaway'. The frame separates at a point in the main beam, for compact storage. A removable rear carrier frame and bag are provided. A badge on the head tube has the name 'Moulton Bicycles', 'Bradford on Avon' and the double 'M' trade mark. The words 'Moulton Stowaway' appear on both sides of the main frame beam.
