Jug

This maiolica jug was made in Italy, possibly in Northern Lazio or Umbria, in the 15th century. It is entirely reconstructed from pieces that were found, according to the Milanese vendor, 'in houses of Piano Scarano and Canino, small villages near Viterbo'.

The jug is painted in blue, pale green and yellow with a stylised flowering plant and with borders of chevron patterns.
