Tumbler

This glass tumbler was designed by Oiva Toikka and made by the Nuutajarvi Glassworks in Finland in 1979.

The tumbler is made of clear colourless glass moulded with overlapping hatched arched panels. The design is called 'Pioni'.

Since the end of World War II, the national design organisations of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have collaborated with joint exhibitions and prizes to promote modern functional design. This resulted in a characteristic 'Scandinavian Style' which was a major influence on world taste.
