Figure of hen

This figure of a hen was designed by Kerttu Nurminen and made in 1977 by the Nuutajarvi Glassworks in Finland.

The figure is made of clear brown glass flecked with yellow and red-brown.

Since the end of World War II, the national design organisations of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have collaborated with joint exhibitions and prizes to promote modern functional design. This resulted in a characteristic 'Scandinavian Style' which was a major influence on world taste.
