Bracelet and ring (fragments)

These bronze bracelet and ring fragments were found in 1990 in a hoard of late Bronze Age material at St Andrews in Fife. The hoard contained over 200 tools, weapons and ornaments as well as seven amber beads and three cannel coal bangles. It was buried between 950 and 750 BC.

The St Andrews hoard is unusual in the number of ornaments it contained. These include around 10 pins as well as 23 bracelets (and fragments of others), one ribbed ornament with ring-and-hook ends, 22 rings (and fragments of many others) and 12 smaller finger or hair-rings.
