Bag

This green velvet bag embroidered in gold and silver thread dates to 1850 - 1900 and was made in India, probably Delhi.

The bag is of green velvet and rectangular in shape. The front is embroidered in gold and silver thread and spangles with a panel of conventional floral design. There is a fringe of gold thread all round and a tassel at one corner.

The bag was made to contain the address, presented by the inhabitants to Queen Victoria on the occasion of her Jubilee, 1887.
