Plate

This glass plate was designed in 1957 by Bengt Orup and made in 1960 by A.B. Johansfors Glasbruk of Broakulla in Sweden.

The plate of colourless glass is tinted greenish-blue at the rim. It is wheel-engraved with the mark 'Johansfors Orup'.

Since the end of World War II, the national design organisations of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have collaborated with joint exhibitions and prizes to promote modern functional design. This resulted in a characteristic 'Scandinavian Style' which was a major influence on world taste.
