Medal (reverse), presented to 15th Scottish Division to commemorate its liberation of Tilburg, Holland, 1944

This is the reverse of a medal presented to the 15th Scottish Division by the citizens of the Dutch town of Tilburg to commemorate its liberation from German occupation by the Division on 28th October 1944.

The reverse is inscribed 'TO THE/15TH SCOTTISH/ DIVISION/IN GRATEFUL REMEMBRANCE/ OF THE /LIBERATION OF/ TILBURG ON/ 27 OCTOBER/ 1944'.

Following the liberation, as the rest of the Division continued its advance, one battalion and the Division's pipe bands remained in Tilburg for a further day to take part in a march past at the ceremonial thanksgiving.
