Cup and saucer

This maiolica coffee cup and saucer were made at the Cantagalli factory in Florence in Italy in the early 20th century.

The tin-glazed coffee cup and saucer are painted in polychrome with sprays of flowers.

The Cantagalli factory was one of the many factories that specialised in producing 16th-century imitations in the second half of the 19th century. The factory was founded by Ulisse and Giuseppe Cantagalli and is still in production today.
