Chair

This chair was acquired near Darvel in Ayrshire, but may have been made elsewhere. It dates from 1671.

The inscription on the top rail reads: 'AB IH / 1671'. This inscription probably records a marriage. The chair has at some time been varnished and the seat board and rear stretcher have been replaced.
