SpearheadThis bronze spearhead was found near Stranraer in Wigtownshire. It dates from between 950 and 750 BC. The leaf-shaped spearhead is very worn, and the edges of the blade are damaged. It has a rivet hole at the bottom of the socket, where the spearhead would have been pegged to a wooden shaft. Spears were used both for fighting and for hunting.
