Soup plate

This 20th century earthenware soup plate was made by the Britannia Pottery Company Ltd in Glasgow. It has been transfer-printed with a 'Ming' pattern.

The 'Ming' pattern takes the form of oriental buildings, a fence, a lake and a tree.

The Britannia Pottery Company Ltd bought over the business of Arnold J Fleming's Brittannia Pottery in 1920.
