Arrowhead

This iron arrowhead is from Roxburgh Castle in Roxburghshire. It dates from the 14th or 15th century.

Arrowhead from Roxburgh Castle, Roxburghshire, 14th - 15th century

In 1460, after 100 years of English control, the town and castle of Roxburgh were finally won back by the Scots. Unfortunately, during the siege of that year, James II was killed while inspecting a cannon. Today little remains of the castle.
